What makes a knife Nordic
A Nordic knife is a specific object: a short flat-ground blade, a full or partial tang driven into a handle of stacked birch bark, antler or burl, and a sheath that holds it by friction. No bolster, no guard, no lock. It is a tool for a person who is going to use it every day and never think about it.
Sweden also makes some of the best blade steel in the world, which is why the town of Mora has been supplying knives to the Nordic countries for four centuries.
You will not forge the blade in a day. What you do is take a good blade and build everything else — shape the handle from stacked material, fit it, sand it through the grits, oil it, and cut and stitch the sheath.
